Sunday, April 21, 2019: A (mostly) theatre trip to London

First, in order to comply with journalistic ethics, which to some may seem like an oxymoron, this blog series is being published with a one-week time delay.  The actual trip took place exactly one week earlier.  Since we are mostly up late going to theatre, I have decided to save the late night photo import and review until we return.  Just pretend that we are currently on the trip even though we returned home safely yesterday afternoon.  There is the spoiler.

Also to avoid your disappointment later, you should know that I have left the "big camera" at home.  All photographs have been taken with either the Sony RX100v or my iPhone XS.

ONE WEEK THEATRE JAUNT TO LONDON

Bev and I left this afternoon for London on a five night (six counting the night in an airplane seat) excursion to London.  As is usual and customary, I have to include the photo of Beverly in the Sky Club at MSP.  Thanks, Meredith, for the lift to the airport.
We are using "miles tickets" for our flight over the Atlantic.  Hence, we are in the dreaded "main cabin".  I don't understand how anybody else can take a reasonable looking selfie.
Since it is Easter Sunday, we are pleased to provide the Easter bunny with a lift for his hop over the pond.  In addition, the flight attendants hid eggs around the plane and we all had a go at finding them during boarding. [not]
My goal of every east-bound transatlantic flight is to get as much sleep as possible.  I've had better luck on some flights than others.  Tonight, I didn't do too badly logging over two and a half hours of sleep and even over a half hour of deep sleep. [Times indicated are London daylight time.]
Adding to the excitement of beginning this adventure, we are greeted by sunrise over the Atlantic.
After arriving early morning in London, we arrive at our stay for the week, the Waldorf Hilton, chosen for its location near Covent Garden and the theatre district in London.  In addition to our essentially free airfare, our hotel stay is also free using Hilton points.  We are happily upgraded to an executive king room.
While we hit the ground running, this day's blog entry will end here.  This is Sunday's blog entry, after all, and I don't want to get ahead.  We have arrived in London and start the week's activities.
