Finally home and parked in the garage after a fifty-four day voyage from Sweden to Minnesota. How to spend over five months to buy a car: May 22: Placed OSD order with Kline Volvo August 12: Paid for car in full, it's mine now September 6:  Pick up at Volvo Factory Delivery Center, Torslanda, Sweden September 11:  Drop off car back at Volvo FDC for shipment home September 23:  Arrived at dock in Goteborg, Sweden September 25:  Loaded onto the Atlantic Cartier and departed Goteborg September 27:  Hamburg, Germany September 29:  Antwerp, Belgium October 1:  Liverpool, England October 9:  Halifax, Nova Scotia October 11:  New York, New York October 14:  arrives Baltimore, Maryland and unloaded from ship October 22:  cleared US customs October 30:  loaded onto overland transport (truck) November 2:  arrives at Kline Volvo November 4:  pick up vehicle

Hurray!  Everyone who has participated in the Volvo overseas delivery program agrees that, although it is a wonderful program, the hardest part is waiting for your new Volvo after having already received it in Goteborg, driven it in Europe and dropped it off again for shipment.  Yesterday, I received a call from the dealer saying "Bill, there is a truck here and your car is on it.  If you want to see it being unloaded, get over here right away."  Alas, I was out of town but nevertheless glad that the wait is about over. The dealer still needs to get it ready and install a few dealer-installed-options (hitch, remote start, protective rear bumper film) but I should be able to pick it up tomorrow ... fifty-four days after returning it to Volvo in Gothenburg.
